Improving Community Services through Digitalization of Resident Data Management in Cluster Cendana Cove Using a Web-Based Application

Abstract

Resident data collection and management in housing areas play a crucial role in supporting effective administration, security, and public services. However, in many residential communities such as Cluster Cendana Cove, Binong Subdistrict, Tangerang Regency, this process is still conducted manually using paper-based media. This method poses risks of data loss, delayed updates, and inefficiencies in service delivery. This community service program (PkM) aims to improve public services by digitizing resident data management through a web-based application. The implementation method consists of three main stages: (1) information gathering and needs analysis with the community partner, (2) designing and developing the web-based application using PHP and the Laravel framework, and (3) evaluating the system’s effectiveness through functional testing and usability measurement using the System Usability Scale (SUS). The outcome includes the development of a digital system featuring resident data management, an integrated marketplace, and a resident discussion forum. The system underwent both alpha and beta testing. The SUS testing produced an average score of 75.5, categorized as Good Usability, indicating that the system is functional and user-friendly. In conclusion, this program successfully provides a practical solution to overcome the limitations of manual data management and shows potential for replication in other housing communities, in line with efforts to realize an inclusive and sustainable Smart Village concept.
