Peta Urban Illustrator di Jakarta
Abstract
Ilustrator adalah salah satu profesi yang cukup diminati di dunia kreatif spesifik senirupa dan desain saat ini. Hal tersebut tidak lepas dari bagaimana para pelaku usaha ilustrasi terdahulu berjuang mengupayakan situasi pasar industri kreatif yang lebih mapan dan berkesinambungan di tengah tantangan zaman pada saat itu. Tulisan ini menjelajah mengenai latar belakang, perjuangan dan bangkitnya para urban illustrator muda di Jakarta. Bagaimana para ilustrator berbakat Indonesia di wilayah urban pada awal tahun 2000 berinisiatif mandiri mengembangkan diri mereka sehingga menjadi pribadi-pribadi yang berkarakter. Secara alami situasi ini kemudian berbanding lurus dengan lahir dan berkembangnya variasi pasar industri kreatif baik mainstream maupun non-mainstream yang kemudian kemudahan tersebut dapat dinikmati oleh ilustrator muda zaman sekarang atau yang sering disebut generasi milenial.
