Plagiarism Policy

Ultima InfoSys: Jurnal Ilmu Sistem Informasi does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Every manuscript must be the authors' original work, must not have been published before, and must not be under consideration by another journal.
This policy applies to all submitted manuscripts and published articles, including text, data, source code, figures, tables, and system designs. It follows the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Screening Process and Similarity Limits

All manuscripts are checked with Turnitin. The similarity result must not exceed 20% overall and 4% for any single source.
Screening takes place at two stages:

  • Initial screening: after submission and before peer review.
  • Final screening: on the accepted version, before publication.

The Editors may also run a check at any other time if concerns are raised.
The following are excluded from the similarity calculation:

  • the reference list;
  • properly quoted and cited material;
  • the authors' names, affiliations, and the journal template text.

The similarity result is a guide, not a final judgment. Overlap from standard terms, method descriptions, or properly cited sources can raise the score. The Editors review every Turnitin report and make the final decision. Manuscripts within the limits may still be returned if a section is copied without proper citation.

Turnitin Result Action
20% or less overall, and no single source above 4% The manuscript proceeds to editorial review and peer review.
Above 20% overall, or any single source above 4% The manuscript is returned to the authors for revision. Authors must resubmit it with a new Turnitin report that meets both limits.
Above 30% overall, or copying of whole paragraphs or sections The manuscript is rejected and will not be considered for resubmission.
